Living in God’s presence

These letters offer a place to begin if you long to carry your fellowship with the Lord into ordinary life. Tersteegen writes about remembering God while working, returning your attention to Him, and yielding to Him in the duties already before you.

Begin with the letter on God’s nearness, then read the two shorter letters on remembering Him through the day. Read slowly; a single passage may give you enough to take into prayer and daily life.

A reading guide to selected letters by Gerhard Tersteegen, translated into English by Jarred Fenlason. The introductions are editorial; each link opens a complete letter with its sources and notes.
